“Christ’s method only will give true success in reaching people. The Savior mingled with men as one who desired their good. He showed his sympathy for them, attended to their needs, and gained their trust. Then he bade to : 'Follow me’”.
Ellen White, The Ministry of Healing, p. 143
AHSIA is the organization within the InterAmerican Division that is responsible for the integration and expansion of the Adventist Healthcare Services network within the IAD territory. In order to achieve this objective, we endeavor to cultivate a culture of compassion, excellence, and quality that is founded on the six fundamental principles of the AHSIA system:
1. Responsibility
2. Resiliency
3. Affordability
4. Accessibility
5. Sustainability
6. Security and Safety.
AHSIA is committed to the following objectives:
a. Assist Adventist Healthcare Services in the IAD in becoming sustainable, successful, and healthy institutions.
b. To establish the foundation for disciple-making by demonstrating the compassion of Jesus Christ toward a suffering humanity.
c. Improve how Adventist Healthcare and the Adventist community work together to carry out ministries that change lives.
d. Facilitate the establishment of partnerships between Adventist healthcare and the local community, as well as local and international health actors.
Based on the provisions of its constitution, which was adopted in 2010 and reviewed in 2022, AHSIA is governed by its board of trustees. The health director of the IAD serves as the president of AHSIA.
